Topcon announces Tesla - Large Screen Data Collector

Capelle a/d IJssel, The Netherlands, – September 13, 2011 Topcon Europe Positioning announces a new extra-large-screen data collector – Topcon Tesla® featuring the advantages of a tablet PC and a rugged handheld computer.
The announcement was made at Intergeo in Nuremberg, Germany. Intergeo is the world’s largest trade show for the geodesy, geoinformation and land management industries.
The Tesla is an incredibly easy to learn and easy to operate controller running Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system and has an impressive array of features. The new unit operates with Topcon’s full suite of software, including Magnet, Pocket 3D and Layout.
All three Topcon Tesla units – Standard, Geo and Geo G3 –come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology. The Geo and the Geo 3G add a 3.2 MP camera and GPS capability; the Geo 3G also has a 3G GSM modem (AT&T network approved).
The dustproof and waterproof instrument with its IP67 rating is impervious to harsh conditions, including water, sand, humidity, dust, vibration, altitude, shock and extreme temperature.
With a 5.7 inch, ultra-bright backlit LCD screen, the Topcon Tesla ensures that bigger is definitely better… it also features an extremely long battery life of up to 16 hours. In addition, the unit has hot-swappable battery capabilities, ensuring continuous use without losing data. The unit weighs just 862g and measures 136mm wide, 220mm long and 51mm deep.
Standard accessories include Li-ion batteries, USB cable, stylus, screen protector, hand carrying strap and power supply. Optional accessories include a travel charger, 12V vehicle charger, international AC charger kit and a mobile docking station.
